About Sumter County, GA |
Sumter County, in southwest Georgia, was established by an act of the state legislature on December 26, 1831.
The county was named for General Thomas Sumter

You'll find a brief history of Sumter County, Georgia here, as well as an online tour of homes and businesses. As you visit our pages, I'm quite sure you'll agree, Sumter County has some very beautiful historic homes.
As we continue to work on the site we hope to include more from the downtown historic business district.
And... we're working on the area's many churches.
We haven't left out education! Sumter County has many schools. Each school, from headstart to adult education, will hopefully have it's own section on the Sumter County website.
And of course there's...Recreation! This section is one of my favorites as you will soon discover.
I love sports and though I don't live in Sumter County, I have friends and family there. Springtime will always find me at the Ballpark. And of course, my camera will be tagging along. I may not get everyone's child, but I try to get friends and family. So if you're nice to me, you'll probably find your child's picture on this site.
It is perfectly legal for any photographer, in any country (western, at least) to take a picture of anyone on the street, mall, stadium, etc.
There are no laws regarding using children's photos online, aside from child pornography laws.
Photography is my hobby, not my profession. I take the pictures for enjoyment. So don't look for me to be "selling" at the park or on this website. The pics I take are only available for viewing on this website.
